Key points
- We keep tracking to a minimum. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
- One essential item in your browser’s local storage remembers your cookie choice.
- Analytics loads only if you accept it, and the tool we use does not set cookies.
- You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and scripts, can store or read information in your browser in a comparable way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
Cookies can be first-party, set by the website you are visiting, or third-party, set by another service. They can last only for your visit (session cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
2. Our approach
We follow a simple rule: only what is needed to run the website runs automatically. Everything else waits for your permission.
This reflects the consent requirements of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission’s General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025.
3. The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the website to work and to remember your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off, and they do not track you across other websites.
Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed most and where visitors come from, so that we can improve our content. They are off by default and run only if you accept them.
Advertising and social media tracking
We do not use these. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting cookies or embedded social media feeds that track you.
4. Exactly what we use
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| billsverse-consent | Billsverse (local storage) | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so that we do not ask on every page | Until you change your choice or clear your browser data |
| Vercel Web Analytics | Vercel Inc. | Analytics, only with your consent | Counts page views, referring sites and device types in aggregate. It does not use cookies or build a profile of you across websites | Nothing is stored on your device |
Our hosting provider, Vercel, also processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the website from attacks. This is necessary to provide the website and does not involve tracking cookies. See our privacy notice for how long this data is kept.
5. Why we use local storage instead of cookies
Your cookie choice is kept in your browser’s local storage rather than in a traditional cookie. Local storage stays on your device and, unlike cookies, it is not sent to our servers with every page request. That means we do not need to read it on our side to remember your choice.
Because it lives in your browser, your choice applies only to the browser and device you made it on. If you visit from another phone or computer, or from a private browsing window, we will ask again.
6. How we record your consent
When you save a choice, the website sends a short confirmation to our server containing only the option you picked (“essential only” or “analytics”) and the version of this policy you saw. It does not include your name, email address or any other identifier, and it is not linked to a profile of you.
This lets us show that consent was asked for and given in line with the NDPA. Your actual choice is always the one stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send signals such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to tell websites that you do not want to be tracked. We do not track visitors across websites or sell personal data, so the website already behaves in the way these signals request. Analytics remains off unless you accept it, whatever signal your browser sends.
8. Your rights
Where cookies or similar technologies involve personal data, you have the rights described in our privacy notice, including the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: open Cookie settings and switch analytics off.
9. Links to other websites
When you follow a link to our profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp or Linktree, or to a provider’s website, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control those cookies.
The social icons on our website are simple links. They do not load any code from those platforms until you click them.
10. How to manage your choices
Using our cookie settings
Select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or use the button below, to accept or reject analytics. Your new choice applies straight away.
Using your browser
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site data. If you clear site data for billsverse.com, we will ask for your choice again on your next visit.
- Google Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Site settings
- Safari: Settings › Privacy
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security
- Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Rejecting analytics never stops you from reading the website or sending us a form.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if we add, remove or change the technologies we use. If we introduce a new non-essential category, we will ask for your consent before it runs.
